Bell Ringing

Looking for a sociable hobby that's a bit different? Join your local bell-ringers!

We number about 15 with an age range of 15-70! We are quite a mixed bunch including a farmer, a civil servant, an IT student, a sales manager, a pub landlord and a professor, to name a few.

We meet to practice on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 7.45pm. On the 1st Thursdays we go to Whittington to practice. The tower captain at Oswestry is Brian Rothera (01691 657778) and our secretary is Jan Snowball (01691 671152 / 07732 712484).

On Sundays we ring for morning service at 9.45am and for evensong at 5.45pm. We have an outing to visit other churches and ring their bells once or twice a year, and like to be involved in the many events that the Shropshire Association of Bell-ringers organise.

We always welcome visitors to the tower to find out about the bells, and for those interested we are always looking for new ringers to learn.
