Ride and Stride

SPONSORED RIDE OR STRIDE IN AID OF SHROPSHIRE HISTORIC CHURCHES TRUST SATURDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2018 – 10 AM TO 6 PM
Why not consider participating in the above event by visiting the local churches in your town or rural area?
The event enables one to enjoy a ride or walk locally visiting participating churches. Refreshments may be available at each church/chapel and the distance travelled is entirely up to you. Our church gains by receiving half of the money you raise.

Health and Safety – Cyclists must wear a safety helmet and suitable clothing and make sure that their bicycles are in good working order, also it is important to adhere
to the Highway Code at all times. Young people may take part but must be supervised by an adult at all times.
People will be needed to sit in church and welcome visitors (for one or two hours between 10 am and 6 pm to offer refreshments and make sure visitors sign in. If you could help with this, you may also get sponsorship for ‘church sitting’ on the day. A form will be put on the table at the back of the Church at the beginning of August to sign up for refreshments.
Information and Sponsorship Forms are available now from the notice board by St Oswald’s South door, inside the church or contact Sue Tansley (Tel: 01691-652498), local organiser.
Sadly during the last two years two of our regular Cycle Riders have left the area, if you are a cyclist and could manage about 20 miles, I know the remaining team would be grateful for your company. They ride at least 16 -20 miles round different villages, mainly on country roads (leaving at 9.00 am usually back between 1 and 2 pm), it would be enjoyable for whoever takes part to have company on their journeys! Don’t forget that you can also get a group together to walk or jog in town or country and perhaps enjoy a lunch on the way. Any questions, please contact me.
