From 3rd May 2026, Bereavement and Pastoral Support became officially enabled for those in need in our Parish. Catherine was commissioned as Lay Minister, at St Oswalds, by Father Phil Hughes and under the auspices of our Rural Dean.
We would like to explain as to how parishioners; church attendees, those attending funerals as well as local visitors to our church; may seek this support.
There are leaflets at the back of the church which will provide further details, but please know that bereavement / pastoral support, can be accessed through Father Phil Hughes or our Church Administrator, Carron Boulton.
Father Phil Hughes will oversee the bereavement and pastoral support that Catherine offers.
At this moment in time, we are limited to our one Lay Minister for bereavement and pastoral support but as a parish, we aim to gradually work towards building a team, in order that our capacity is greater.

As a ‘Living Christian Church’, we hope to love and care for those in need around us and in our midst.

Bereavement & Pastoral Support
It can feel both isolating and overwhelming sometimes when bereaved or struggling with challenging situations. We would like to support you by listening and helping you to feel understood.
We may well be able to help or signpost you towards practical assistance too.
